UT Health East Texas is expanding its services in Tyler with the addition of several new physicians across various specialties. These new team members bring expertise in pain management, pediatric neurology, neuropsychology, and women’s health, enhancing the comprehensive care available to patients in Tyler.
Janki Patel, MD
UT Health East Texas is expanding pain management services in Tyler with the addition of Janki Patel, MD.
“I strive to provide safe, thoughtful and patient-centered care as an anesthesiologist and interventional pain physician,” Dr. Patel said. “It is an honor to help patients affected by chronic pain through multimodal pain management, including medication, injection therapies, neuromodulation and movement therapies in order to improve both physical function and quality of life.”
Dr. Patel’s specific areas of interest include chronic back pain, joint pain and peripheral nerve pain in adults.

Venu Parachuri, MD
UT Health East Texas is now offering pediatric neurology services in Tyler with the addition of Venu Parachuri, MD.
“My care philosophy emphasizes personalized, evidence-based treatment with a holistic focus on each patient’s well-being,” Dr. Parachuri said. “I prioritize open communication and collaboration with patients, families and providers to ensure cohesive, compassionate and ethical care that respects each person’s dignity.”
Dr. Parachuri said he pursued healthcare out of a passion for helping others and a desire to improve people’s health and quality of life. As a specialist in pediatric neurology, he treats various neurological disorders in children up to age 18, including seizures, headaches, migraines, tics, developmental delays, muscle and nerve disorders, as well as providing initial pediatric sleep medicine consultations.

UT Health East Texas is expanding neuropsychology services in Tyler with the addition of Heidys Prieto, PsyD.
“As a neuropsychologist, I believe in providing individualized care that integrates scientific expertise with empathy. I approach each patient holistically, considering their neurological, psychological, social and cultural contexts,” Dr. Prieto said. “My goal is to empower patients and enhance their quality of life through comprehensive assessments and personalized treatment plans.”
Dr. Prieto said she decided to pursue healthcare to make a meaningful impact on others’ lives daily, contributing to public health on a larger scale.
“My special interests include neurodegenerative disorders and traumatic brain injury, and I prefer working with adults and the geriatric population,” she said. “I am fascinated by the intricate relationship between the brain and behavior and how neurological processes shape thoughts, emotions and actions.”

UT Health East Texas is now offering urogynecology services in Tyler with the addition of board-certified obstetrics and gynecology physician Russell Stanley, DO.
Urogynecology focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of pelvic floor disorders, including urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and other complex conditions affecting the pelvic region. Dr. Stanley brings specialized expertise and compassionate care to women experiencing these challenges.
“My care philosophy revolves around five pillars: compassion, patient-centered care, building relationships, shared decision-making and education,” Dr. Stanley said. “These principles guide me in developing personalized care plans, fostering trust with patients and ensuring informed decisions while providing educational support.”

Withers said she has always known she wanted to pursue a career in healthcare in order to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
