New neurologist practicing at Northwest Health in Valparaiso

A new neurologist is practicing with Northwest Medical Group in Valparaiso.

Neurologist Asia Filatov is now affiliated with the healthcare system that operates hotels in Valparaiso, LaPorte and Knox. She joined the practice of Dr. Richard Strawsburg at Northwest Medical Group–Neurology. She’s now seeing patients Northwest Health–Valparaiso, 2000 Roosevelt Road, Suite 201 in Valparaiso.

Filatov earned her medical degree from Caribbean Medical University in Rosemont and did a residency in neurology at the University of Chicago in Hyde Park on the South Side.

She treats epilepsy, dementia, movement disorders, neuromuscular issues and other neurological problems. She specializes in headaches treatment, migraine treatment and stroke prevention.

Filatov accepts most insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid.

Northwest Health had more than 700 doctors and 3,000 employees. It has more than 60 public access points, including five emergency departments, urgent care centers, outpatient surgery centers, an ambulance service and physician offices.
