You’re invited to get active with Sault College during its free drop-in fitness classes this fall.

Registration is not required.

Sault College is excited to announce that free drop-in fitness classes will continue throughout the Fall 2025 semester, inviting staff, students, and community members to participate in maintaining an active lifestyle and supporting campus wellness. With the transition of delivery from the Fitness & Health Promotion (FHP) program to the Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant (OTA/PTA) program, these accessible group fitness sessions will be led by professor and group fitness instructor Heather Pusch, alongside OTA/PTA students.

Group Fitness Classes Open to the Public

Held in room A-1080 at Sault College, the classes are free of charge and require no pre-registration—simply attend whenever you are able. All new participants are asked to complete a Get Active Questionnaire prior to their first session to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

Fall 2025 Schedule

Back to Basics Circuit:

Tuesdays, 11:30–12:15 p.m.

A station-based class featuring upper body, lower body, core, and cardio exercises using both equipment and body weight resistance.

EveryBody Moves:

Wednesdays, 12:30–1:15 p.m.

A total body workout with simple, low-impact resistance exercises; participants can choose to perform movements seated, standing, or both.

WalkFit:

Thursdays, 12:30–1:15 p.m.

Moderate-intensity class combining choreographed walking steps with exercises designed to challenge cardio and balance—no jumping required.

Note: There will be no classes Oct. 21–23 during the Fall Study Break.

Program Background and Accessibility

Classes are designed to suit a variety of fitness levels and abilities. The OTA/PTA program’s involvement ensures that students gain valuable experience in leading group exercise while supporting the campus and broader community’s commitment to health and wellness. Professor Heather Pusch is available to answer questions and provide more details.
