The series is co-created by Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham, and Graham also stars in the supporting role of Jamie’s father, Eddie. The series also stars Ashley Walters and Faye Marsay as detectives Luke Bascombe and Misha Frank.

Episode 1 chronicles the arrest of Jamie at his family’s home, his transport to the police station, his meeting with a public solicitor and interrogation by the detectives, while Episode 2 finds Luke and Misha questioning seeking information at Jaime’s school.

Episode 3, which takes place seven months after the murder, takes place at a youth detention facility where Briony sees a frightening side of Jamie in an intense, hour-long interview to assess the adolescent’s mental health for a pre-trial report.

Doherty’s screen career dates back to 2017, when she appeared in a guest-starring role in the popular BBC series Call the Midwife.

The next year, Doherty played Fabienne, a friend of Fantine (Lily Collins), in a supporting role in the BBC/PBS Masterpiece mini-series adaptation of Les Misérables.

‘A Thousand Blows’ (2025)

Released on Hulu on Feb. 21, A Thousand Blows is a British historical drama that is set in London’s East End in the 1880s.

Erin Doherty stars in A Thousand Blows as Mary Carr, the leader of an all-female crime syndicate, while her Adolescence collaborator Stephen Graham plays Henry “Sugar” Goodson, who runs an illegal bare-knuckle boxing operation.
