Netflix’s Adolescence Episode 3 features a compelling interview of Jamie Miller by Briony Ariston, a child psychologist. What else has Erin Doherty, who plays Briony, starred in?
Adolescence — one of the hottest series on Netflix since its release — chronicles in a real-time one-shot format four separate days in the life of Jamie (Owen Cooper), a 13-year-old accused of murdering a female classmate named Katie.
The series is co-created by Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham, and Graham also stars in the supporting role of Jamie’s father, Eddie. The series also stars Ashley Walters and Faye Marsay as detectives Luke Bascombe and Misha Frank.
Episode 1 chronicles the arrest of Jamie at his family’s home, his transport to the police station, his meeting with a public solicitor and interrogation by the detectives, while Episode 2 finds Luke and Misha questioning seeking information at Jaime’s school.

Episode 3, which takes place seven months after the murder, takes place at a youth detention facility where Briony sees a frightening side of Jamie in an intense, hour-long interview to assess the adolescent’s mental health for a pre-trial report.
Doherty’s screen career dates back to 2017, when she appeared in a guest-starring role in the popular BBC series Call the Midwife.
The next year, Doherty played Fabienne, a friend of Fantine (Lily Collins), in a supporting role in the BBC/PBS Masterpiece mini-series adaptation of Les Misérables.

Erin Doherty starred as the young Princess Anne — the daughter of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip and sibling of Prince Charles, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward — in Seasons 3 and 4 of the acclaimed award-winning Netflix series The Crown.

A six-episode BBC One/Prime Video miniseries, the dramatic thriller Chloe stars Erin Doherty as Becky Green, a lonesome woman who assumes a new identity after her estranged childhood friend, Chloe Fairbourne (Poppy Gilbert) takes her own life.
Obsessed with the life Chloe documented on her Instagram account, Becky becomes “Sasha” and makes her way into her late friend’s inner circle where her life is transformed into a much more exciting — and dangerous — existence.
‘Firebrand’ (2024)
Erin Doherty plays the pivotal supporting role of Anne Askew in the 2024 film Firebrand opposite Jude Law and Alicia Vikander.
Law stars as the Tudor King Henry VIII while Vikander plays Katharine, the sixth wife of the infamous historical figure who cast two of the wives out and beheaded two others, while another one of his wives died in childbirth.
In the film, Katharine secretly meets with her friend Anne, a firebrand Protestant reformer who is arrested on charges of heresy during Henry VIII’s reign and is ultimately executed. Doherty’s Anne can be seen at the 51-second mark in the trailer above.

‘A Thousand Blows’ (2025)
Released on Hulu on Feb. 21, A Thousand Blows is a British historical drama that is set in London’s East End in the 1880s.
Erin Doherty stars in A Thousand Blows as Mary Carr, the leader of an all-female crime syndicate, while her Adolescence collaborator Stephen Graham plays Henry “Sugar” Goodson, who runs an illegal bare-knuckle boxing operation.
Caught in the middle of the clashing organizations are Hezekiah Moscow (Malachi Kirby) and Alec Monroe (Francis Lovehall), who have immigrated to England from Jamaica.
All four episodes of Adolescence are streaming on Netflix.
